As the Simpsons look solemnly at the remains of their house, Lisa sees Colin next to the dome. He tries to play Lisa a song on his guitar, but Lisa can't hear him, so he writes the notes of the song onto the dome instead. Lisa shares a moment with Colin but Bart interrupts and rants "Lisa has got a boyfriend! That she'll never see again!".
Grampa is suddenly possessed and begins to scream of a coming disaster foreshadowing the events on the film, involving a "twisted tail", "a thousand eyes", "trapped forever" and "Eeeepa". This leads Marge to believe that God is sending them a message warning them about a future catastrophe . During the credits, Mr. Burns and Smithers are sitting in Mr. Burns' unusually empty house. Burns replies "Smithers, I don't believe in suicide, but if you would like to try it, I would certainly watch.".
Worst Twist Endings That Ruined Thriller Movies
This was proof of how much an international audience lovesThe Simpsons and will watch them even after the show's decline. Green Day played a show at the Duff Summer Concert Series on a barge on Lake Springfield. One would assume that a band as big and environmentally friendly as Green Day would have no problem selling out a stadium anywhere in Springfield, yet they agreed to perform on a barge on a lake that they knew was toxic. On top of that, they recognized the barge was dissolving and waited till the very last minute to make mention of it, causing their untimely deaths. Had they not suffered the wrath of the lake, a certain eight-year-old would not have made it her mission to reduce the pollution in it.
If Lisa took the time to devise a more realistic plan, there would have been more than one treatment center available to the public, so Homer could've properly gotten rid of the silo. The film was rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America for "irreverent humor throughout"; the production staff had expected this rating. However, the British Board of Film Classification passed the film as a PG with no cuts made. A BBFC spokeswoman said regarding Bart's brief nude scene, "natural nudity with no sexual content is acceptable in PG films". The film was banned in Myanmar, not for the scene of nudity, but for the excessive use of the colors yellow and red, which is prohibited in the country. Although he does not provide the voice, Arnold Schwarzenegger is president of the United States rather than then-President George W. Bush because, according to Groening, "in two years ... the film out of date".
Bardo, False Chronicle Of A Handful Of Truths Review: Immersive & Lacks Substance
Homer and Marge see the live news broadcast of the discovery, and Marge criticizes Homer over the fact that he did not listen to her after she warned him, but Homer simply says that "nobody watches the channel anyway". Then Kent Brockman says in encouragement saying that it will have results, which it will. Then a photo of Homer appears on the live news broadcast with the words reading "GET HIM".
Groening read about a town that had to get rid of pig feces in their water supply, which inspired the plot of the film. The decision for Flanders to have an important role also came early on, as Jean wished to see Bart wonder what his life would be like if Flanders were his father. Hank Scorpio, a character from the 1996 episode "You Only Move Twice", was originally meant to return as the main antagonist, but the staff dropped the idea and created Russ Cargill instead. Russ Cargill tells the President that they can't keep Springfield in this state forever and presents five new solutions. Again Schwarzenegger tries to randomly choose a plan, but this time he is lead by Cargill to choose the plan to destroy Springfield. Back in Alaska, the family sees an advert presented by Tom Hanks promoting a new Grand Canyon, to be located where Springfield is.

However, three times Homer fails, so the carny gives him another try, just to see him get hurt. Lisa advises her father to speed up when he reaches the top, enabling him to win. As the Simpsons drive off in their new truck, the carny's Siamese twin cousins are a bit furious because the carny had forgotten that he had to take them on vacation. At the church service the next day, there is a brief tribute to the passing of Green Day, the most recent band to die in Springfield. After the parishioners overhear Homer's rants about going to church, reverend Timothy Lovejoy is up to the prayers of the faithful. First Ned told the reverend that he had to confess to an "immodest sense of pride in our community" , although Lovejoy then amends his statement to exclude Flanders this time around before Flanders could mention it.
Lard Lad's poor sanitation led the health inspector to officially shut them down. Lenny, being a good friend, called Homer to share the news, telling him to hurry as supplies were low. The promise of free donuts made Homer rush his one job, haphazardly dumping the silo into the lake instead of waiting to take care of it properly. If the health inspector had come another time, if Lard Lad had been cleaner or if Lenny had called his friend earlier, the town would not have been domed.
Russ Cargill, The EPA and The President
Bart refuses at first, but then does so after Homer threatens to call him a "chicken" for life. The film has earned $150,809,745 in the United States and Canada and $70,439,921 internationally. The film grossed a worldwide total of $220,575,569 on a $25 million budget. The film opened #4 on its opening weekend behind Real Steel and The Lion King 3D. The film was a great success at the box office. After years spent on television, The Simpsonsfinally got their own movie in 2007 and - surprise, surprise - it was a total hit. Given the success of the first film, conversations aboutThe Simpsons Movie 2 have fired up over the past decade, and now there's reason to hope aSimpsons Moviesequelwill happen evenutally.
While Lisa was trying to do a good thing for her town, she underestimated the organizational expertise of it. Once she demanded the lake be cleaned up, Mayor Quimby responded by creating an "idiot-proof" barrier around the lake and opening a hazardous waste treatment center to take up all the general pollutants of the lake. Lisa's drive to solve this issue as fast as possible, as well as her new love interest, led to hasty solutions, which led to Homer's own rushed decision to throw the silo in the lake.
The next day, Maggie falls through a sinkhole in her sandbox and emerges outside the dome, before returning. The police reveal that Homer polluted the lake and an angry mob approaches the Simpson's house and torches it. The family escape through the sink hole, which expands destroying their house. The family flee, and whilst hiding in a dilapidated motel Homer reveals that he has always kept a backup plan in the event that they are run out of town.
Back inside the dome, the townspeople are fruitlessly attempting to disarm the bomb and eventually decide on a diversion. Cletus Spuckler distracts Cargill while the rest of the town climb up the rope and escape through the hole. Homer makes it to the top of the dome and slides down the rope, knocking everyone and the bomb off of it, accidentally halving the detonation time in the process. In desperation, Homer notices a motorcycle and realizes what he must do. Meanwhile Bart is at the church, as he has decided he wants his last moments to be with Ned whom he has adopted as a father-figure. Homer shows up at the church with the bomb and eventually convinces Bart to accompany him.
He proposes that the entire family move to Alaska, a plan that Marge eventually agrees to. The next day the family attend a carnival where Homer enters the "Ball of Death" challenge, a spherical cage in which he must ride a motorcycle around in a full vertical circle. He wins a truck and the family move to Alaska, and begin to enjoy their new life. The $1,000 Homer received when entering Alaska is a reference to the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend.
